The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) will open the waiting list lottery for Section 8 housing assistance on April 15, 2024. Eligible applicants must be referred by service providers. To apply, interested individuals must contact their local housing authority and fill out an application. Eligible applicants will be entered into a computer-randomized lottery to determine their placement on the waiting list.
The lottery will remain open until April 30, 2024 at 11:59 PM. Applicants will be notified of their lottery results by mail. Those who are selected will be placed on the waiting list and will be contacted when a housing unit becomes available.
